Sadness is a disease... It would be an impossible request for people not to experience sadness, for I myself get world-weary but yet.
What purpose does sadness serve? it's an inescapable feeling we must all feel in our lives at some point. I queried a close friend on it's purpose. He responded "It hardens us".
Yes and no, at least not directly and yes because overcoming it makes us stronger.
contempt
wounded pride
determination
hate
Are they all not usually spurred on by sadness? by fighting it? by struggling against it and in certain situations do they not make us stronger by embracing them?
Suffering makes us who we are. In hardship do we truly find ourselves. Now I ask you and as much as myself. Is it better to be naive or bitter and cautious?
Amusingly enough that's the path our lives take. First naive then bitter. But I wear a mask y'see?
I'm both a bitter bastard and a child and... well I don't know which one's the mask or if they're both me.
I've seen and know what this life really is. Bah! Fairy Tales of good triumphing over evil. Of the good outnumbering the bad. Of happy endings and black and white.
If you believe in such things I don't know where you live. Probably in a little house where mommy and daddy cook your meals, does your laundry and picks you up from school so you can do all the silly things that keep us distracted.
Greed filthy cold greed and disgusting all consuming selfishness. That is what people build their lives around. Only caring about themselves and maintaining their little bubbles of ignorance.
What life really is? It is for me. The blood, the tears, the human bonds, the hardships and the triumphs. The standing against the darkness and fighting for what is good. It's the never giving up.
Sadness is fine just never let it turn into self loathing or take you over. It's part of life and it can either spur us on or smother us.
I'm tired, sick and pissed at seeing people get hurt by people who aren't fit to lick the dog shit off their shoes.
